Please read these terms carefully before using our comparison service.
4Drive Thailand operates a website that compares offers from local car rental suppliers across Thailand, including Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, Pattaya, Hua Hin and Bangkok. We are not a car rental company ourselves. We do not own, maintain or operate any vehicles. Our role is to present offers gathered from local suppliers so that travellers can compare prices and conditions in one place before deciding where to book.
By using this website you agree to the terms set out below. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the site to search, compare or proceed to a booking.
When you search for a car on this site, you see offers collected from a range of local suppliers operating in the region you selected. Prices, vehicle categories, mileage limits and deposit conditions are set by each individual supplier, not by us. We aim to display accurate and current information, but conditions can change on the supplier's side between the time an offer is shown and the time a booking is confirmed.
Once you choose an offer and proceed to complete a booking, the actual rental contract is formed directly between you and the local supplier providing the vehicle. That supplier is responsible for the car, the pickup and drop-off arrangements, fuel policy, insurance details attached to the specific offer, and any deposit or documentation requirements. We recommend reading the conditions attached to each offer before confirming, since terms can differ from one supplier to another even for a similar-looking car.
We do not process rental payments as the merchant of record for the underlying rental service. Any advance payment made online to confirm a booking is handled through the booking system connected to the supplier's offer, and any balance due locally - whether by cash or card - is settled directly with the supplier at pickup, according to the terms of that specific offer.
Thailand requires drivers to hold a valid national driving licence together with an International Driving Permit if their licence was not issued in Thailand. This applies regardless of nationality and is checked at police checkpoints from time to time, particularly around holidays and in resort areas. It is your responsibility to arrange an International Driving Permit before travelling if your home licence requires one, and to carry both documents while driving. We provide general guidance on this on our FAQ page, but the legal requirement rests with the driver, and the supplier's insurance cover may be affected if a driver is not properly licensed.
Traffic in Thailand drives on the left, which tends to feel familiar to visitors from the UK, Ireland, Australia and similar countries, and takes a short adjustment period for visitors used to driving on the right. Whichever side you are used to, please take a few minutes at the start of the rental to get comfortable with the vehicle, mirrors and local road habits - scooters weaving between lanes are the most common hazard reported by drivers here, and Bangkok's inner-city traffic is genuinely heavy at peak times.
You are responsible for driving in accordance with Thai traffic law, for any tolls incurred on motorway sections (typically paid in cash at the booth), and for returning the vehicle in the condition and at the time agreed with the supplier. Any traffic fines, toll charges or damage arising during your rental period are your responsibility and will typically be handled directly between you and the supplier under the terms of that specific rental agreement.
Prices shown across the site, including any "from" prices for economy cars, SUVs or minivans, are indicative and reflect typical rates seen from local suppliers at the time of publishing. Actual live pricing depends on the season - rates in the high season from November to March and around major holidays are generally higher than during the green season - as well as on the specific dates, pickup location and vehicle category you select in the search tool. The rate confirmed at the point of booking is the one that applies.
Vehicle availability is controlled by the local suppliers and can change without notice, particularly for popular categories during peak weeks. If an offer becomes unavailable after you have expressed interest but before a booking is confirmed, we are not able to guarantee that an equivalent offer will remain at the same price.
We reserve the right to update, correct or remove information on this website at any time, including prices, supplier details, descriptions of locations and any other content, without prior notice.
Because the rental agreement is between you and the local supplier, we are not a party to that contract and cannot be held responsible for the supplier's performance, including vehicle condition, breakdowns, delays in pickup or drop-off, insurance claims, or disputes over deposits or damage charges. Our role is limited to presenting comparison information and facilitating your connection to the supplier's booking process.
We make reasonable efforts to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that content is free of errors at all times, and we accept no liability for losses arising from reliance on information displayed here, to the extent permitted by applicable law. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have under consumer protection law in your country of residence or under Thai law.
We are also not liable for events outside our control that affect your trip or rental, including weather, ferry schedules to islands such as Ko Lanta, road closures, or changes to entry requirements.
The content, layout, graphics and text on this website belong to 4Drive Thailand unless otherwise indicated, and may not be copied or reused without permission. You may use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes to search for and compare car rental offers. Automated scraping, bulk data extraction or attempts to interfere with the normal operation of the site or the booking tool are not permitted.
We may link to external booking systems or supplier pages to allow you to complete a reservation. We are not responsible for the content or practices of external sites once you leave 4drivethailand.com, though we choose the suppliers we work with carefully based on service quality and transparency of conditions.
We may revise these terms from time to time to reflect changes in how the comparison service works, in applicable law, or in how local suppliers structure their offers. The version published on this page at the time you use the website is the one that applies. We encourage you to check this page occasionally if you use the service regularly.
If you have questions about these terms, or about a specific booking you made through an offer found on this site, please get in touch via our contact page. For general questions about how comparisons, deposits or documentation work, our FAQ page covers the topics travellers ask about most often.
